Strehn, 'Blaufrankisch Irrgarten'

The Strehn winery slogan of: "SAVE THE PLANET, IT'S THE ONLY ONE WITH BLAUFRANKISCH" gives you some idea as to how committed they are to making incredile wines from this grape variety. Though they specialise in producing rosés from this variety, this red is also exceptional.  Deep ruby in colour, it is a juicy but elegant wine with soft, velvety smooth tannins, dark fruit and sour cherry notes with a touch of spice on the finish.  

Drink with stews and roasts or a good book by the fire.
